DLBMade working with Kütchenhaus
How it started
Hi, my name is Debbie. It all started with my kitchen. I moved to a house with a lot of "potential" and part of that involved getting Kütchenhaus involved to help me design a kitchen for a brand new enlarged kitchen/dining space. A big part of my plan was bench seating. I wanted the seating to be spacious and flexible; for lounging teenagers, social gatherings or a solo cup of tea. One of the main reasons I chose Kütchenhaus was because they did low units that could be made perfectly into bench seating with piles of storage underneath. But they needed cushions. So I set about making some for the area. When my lovely Kütchenhaus designer came to visit the finished space, he asked if I would consider making cushions for other customers. It was an idea that came at just the right time for me and I said "Yes"!
The Possibilities
The range is simple to make your life easier in choosing.
- Bench Cushions: seat and back cushions made to fit the length of your Kütchenhaus bench.
- Scatter cushions: available as part of a bench cushion order, these come in three sizes

Bench Cushion Construction
Seat and back cushions in Westbury Charcoal.
Contstructed from six separate panels
The cover is removable from the foam insert if occasional cleaning is needed.
A matching zip is sewn in housed with flaps to ensure strength and minimal visibility.
The bottom of the cushion has the zip at the back and two lines of stick and sew velcro ready to attach to your bench.
Each panel of fabric is overlocked on all edges, before sewing together, this prevents any fraying, giving longevity to the cover.
Inside the Bench Cushions
Inside the bench cushions is a layer of luxury, high-density, seat grade foam.
The foam then has a layer of dacron on the top and the bottom to give it loft and prevent it from sagging.
Finally the foam is covered with a layer of stockinette. This ensures the handmade cover fits smoothly over the foam, and prevents creasing and premature wear.
Scatter Cushions
Scatter cushions are handmade and available as part of a bench cushion order.
A piped edge on Clifton Burnt Orange
Zips are chosen to match the fabric.
Unpiped cushions in Clifton Ochre
Unpiped cushions come with an invisible zip closure.
The cushion inner contains 100% ethically sourced duck feathers covered by a cambric cotton to help prevent protruding feathers.
